MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR
This role supports the smooth and safe operation of the GLT factory in Bangladesh by overseeing maintenance planning, procurement, execution, and reporting. The position ensures mechanical systems run efficiently and reliably, while upholding safety standards. Key responsibilities include scheduling work, providing technical support, resolving mechanical issues, and coordinating contractor activities. The role also focuses on team development, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Management Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the team to understand and meet their needs, while fostering One Team spiritDevelop and manage department goals, in line with strategic objectives Provide oversight and leadership to direct reports, ensuring JTI values are upheld Set direction, evaluate performance, and align necessary resources to develop, motivate and inspire team to achieve high results with a quest for continuous improvementPlanning:
Carry out annual and strategic Opex and Capex investment studies and planning for leaf Bangladesh's Machinery and equipment servicing, improvements and upgradesCoordinate preparation of budgets for ASP, OLs (incorporate identified Opex from investment studies)Opex Procurement & Execution:
Work with functional heads and GIP to develop maintenance execution planSupport GIP on pre-screening supplier capability to deliver quality worksMonitor execution plan to ensure works commence as plannedManage vendors with respect to quality and compliance to safety standardsAlert Management on any potential delays in executionMonitor and control expenses to be in line with the planInstalling and maintenance monitoring and Reporting
Provide monthly updates on Opex/Capex project status to stakeholdersEnsure technical support for new installations and preventive maintenanceAddress breakdowns and implement weekend maintenance during processingIdentify and resolve quality issues with vendorsSign off on completed projects and ensure adherence to JTI standardsEngage with GIP for spare parts and consumables procurementSupport production teams with improvement initiativesMaintain SAP records (PR, GR, PM module, equipment, and locations)Policy, Standards & Best Practices:
Implement budget planning policies and ensure timely spare parts requestsMonitor team-related expenditures and conduct cost-benefit analyses with financeDeliver end-user training on SAP PM spare partsMaintain ISO documentation and actively support IWS initiativesEHS & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all company safety policies and proceduresUse appropriate PPE and report hazards or injuries promptlyEnsure team compliance with JTI safety standardsConduct risk assessments for all activities with EHS supportClose out safety action items on time and participate in EHS programsPromote and embody a strong daily safety culturRequirements
Graduate of B.Sc Engineering or equivalentMinimum 5 years in supervisory role that includes projects, maintenance, production and planning experience in any manufacturing process machineryExcellent at Bengali and English, moderate knowledge in MS officeExcellent Visualization ability, Ability to read drawings and engineering documents is a mustKnowledge in ASP process and systems (LPT / SAP) is an advantageKnowledge in AutoCAD is an advantageExpertise and knowledge on how to maintain safety measures and uphold the best practices for a safe work environmentAnalytical and databased decision makingExcellent interpersonal communication skills People management and Leadership skillsAre you ready to join us?
