Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, is seeking an experienced 5D BIM Specialist (Assemble) to support large-scale hyperscale and AI data center projects across NorthAmerica. This role focuses on model-based quantities, design change analysis, and BIM data quality, working closely with multidisciplinary BIM/VDC, estimating, and project teams. The position isfully remote within an international engineering firm recognized for its leadership in mission-critical infrastructure.
Our projects involve high-demand, fast-track facilities with complex structural, electrical, mechanical, automation, and security systems, often exceeding 100 MW per facility and up to 500 MW per site, where accurate model-driven quantities and rapid response to design changes are critical to project success.
As an experienced 5D BIM Specialist (Assemble), you will support large-scale US data center projects by managing model-based quantities, cost-impacting design changes, and data integrityacross architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
This role focuses on extracting, validating, and tracking quantities directly from BIM models using Assemble, enabling accurate estimating, cost forecasting, and informed decision-makingthroughout fast-paced design development.
The specialist works closely with BIM/VDC teams, discipline leads, and estimating or cost management teams to ensure that design changes are immediately reflected in quantities anddownstream cost models, which is critical for large, repeatable, mission-critical data center programs in the US.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact data center projects for global clients such as Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, and Google, while advancing your career within a dynamic, technically driven, and highly collaborative team environment.
What We Offer:
- Experience in a high-tech industry within an international company.
- Engaging positions on unique, cutting-edge data center projects.
- Comprehensive training and professional development opportunities.
- Supportive management and a dream team.
- Opportunity to build your career.
- Competitive hourly rate in USD.
- Transparent payment system.
- Ability to collaborate remotely.
- Equipment for work (Starlink terminal, Ecoflow power station, other).
What You Will Do:
Model-Based Quantification & 5D BIM (Core Focus):
- Extract, manage, and validate model-based quantities from multidisciplinary BIM models (Structural, Architectural, MEP) using Assemble.
- Leverage strong Revit model understanding to ensure quantities are derived from correctly structured and modeled elements.
- Create and maintain consistent quantity breakdowns aligned with data center scopes (foundations, superstructure, MEP systems, equipment zones, phases).
- Ensure quantity accuracy and traceability across model revisions and design milestones.
Design Change & Impact Analysis:
- Perform model comparison and quantity change analysis between Revit model versions.
- Identify and communicate quantity and cost-impacting changes to estimating and project teams.
- Support rapid design iteration typical of hyperscale and AI data center projects.
BIM Data Quality & Coordination:
- Review Revit models for parameter completeness, modeling consistency, and classification.
- Coordinate with BIM authors to resolve issues that impact quantities and downstream analysis.
- Support internal BIM and 5D standards aligned with US client and program requirements.
Collaboration with Estimating & Cost Teams:
- Export structured quantity data to Excel or other cost tools for pricing and analysis.
- Support early design estimating, option comparisons, and value engineering.
- Act as the connection point between BIM/VDC teams and cost-focused stakeholders.
Reporting & Data Visualization:
- Prepare clear quantity reports, change summaries, and dashboards for internal teams and US-based clients.
- Use Power BI (where available) to visualize quantities, trends, and design changes across model versions.
- Support repeatability and auditability of quantities across large, program-level data center projects.
What We Expect:
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with BIM models in a production, coordination, estimating, or VDC capacity.
- Experience on large-scale, technically complex projects (data centers, mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial preferred).
Software & Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (required).
- Ability to understand model structure, parameters, categories, and modeling logic.
- Experience with Assemble is preferred, but candidates with strong Revit skills and willingness to learn Assemble are encouraged.
- Advanced Excel skills for quantity analysis, exports, and validation.
- Experience with Power BI is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud workflows is a plus.
- Scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or similar) are not required.
BIM & 5D Understanding:
- Understanding of how BIM data supports quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and design decision-making.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and relate them to BIM content.
- Familiarity with data center construction logic (MEP-intensive systems, repeatable modules, phased delivery) is highly desirable.
Communication & Work Style:
- English proficiency B1 or higher.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-BIM stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple models, packages, and deadlines in parallel.
- Comfortable working with distributed teams and US-based clients.
