POSITION SUMMARY

The role of IT Cyber Security Technician performs a variety of technical tasks and duties relating to the cyber security awareness training, phish testing, diagnosis and resolution of all cyber security software components, applications and cyber related support requests. In conjunction, these tasks will be expected to be performed with an important level of social and intrapersonal skills as demonstrated through communication, teamwork, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Security Awareness Training: Manage our Corporate Cyber Security Awareness Training Platform to include phish testing, security awareness training and reporting.Breach Response: Active member of our Breach Response TeamCyber Security Team: Act as a core member of the Cybersecurity Team and our external security providers.System Monitoring: Continuously watch network traffic and security alerts from firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software to identify suspicious activity.Vulnerability Scanning: Perform routine scans and audits on computers and network systems to find weaknesses before they can be exploited by attackers.Threat Analysis: Analyze security logs and events to detect nefarious activity and stay updated on the latest cyberattack techniques.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent.3-5 years of IT experience in Cyber SecurityPossesses a thorough understanding of technology solutions, and the ability to efficiently implement advanced technologies required.Ability to travel to office locations including Abilene, Odessa and Houston when needed.Able to respond to after-hours cyber-related requests.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

IT Cyber Security in a business/Commercial environment.Microsoft Certifications are not required but preferred.Prior experience with Proofpoint Security Platform, EDR, MDR and XDR Solutions a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
