Strategic Insights Manager (New Cairo, Egypt)
About the position
We are looking for a data-driven, insights-focused professional to join our Strategic Insights team. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing consumer centricity and deepening consumer understanding within the Marketing and Sales functions, with a focus on the RRP (Reduced-Risk Products) category.
You will combine strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, advanced numerical analysis capabilities, and excellent communication in English (both verbal and written) to uncover meaningful insights. These insights will guide cross-functional teams in shaping effective strategies and impactful programs, helping to strengthen JTI’s competitive edge in the marketplace.
What will you do:
1. Research Methodology & Innovation
Review, evaluate, and improve internal and external qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Introduce innovative research tools and adapt methods to align with changing business needs.
Identify and manage external research agencies, ensuring methodological rigor, cost-efficiency, and high-quality output.
2. End-to-End Research Execution
Lead the full lifecycle of the Egypt Research Agenda – from identifying insight needs to delivering actionable recommendations.
Apply strict quality control measures to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and relevance.
Challenge research partners to deliver best-in-class analysis and uphold excellence in execution.
3. Numerical Analysis & Performance Evaluation
Design and implement frameworks to measure the effectiveness of marketing, trade, and consumer-facing programs.
Utilize numerical and statistical analysis to assess campaign impact, ROI, and drive data-backed decision-making.
4. Strategic Planning Support
Translate complex market and consumer data into strategic insights that support:
Portfolio strategy
Pricing and revenue optimization
Market performance reviews
Business case development
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with key stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, and Finance, and engage with regional and global teams.
Provide insight support for global frameworks and contribute to elevating the Strategic Insights function as a trusted business partner.
Requirements:
Education
Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience
3–5 years in a market research or consumer insights role, ideally within FMCG or a multinational environment.
Core Skills
Proven experience with both quantitative (e.g. pricing studies, segmentation, analytics) and qualitative (e.g. focus groups, ethnographic research) methods.
Strong numerical analysis and data interpretation skills; ability to draw actionable insights from complex data sets.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, charts, formulas) and PowerPoint.
Ability to translate business questions into research objectives and synthesize findings into clear, actionable narratives.
Excellent English communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to present insights to senior stakeholders.
Soft Skills
Detail-oriented and organized, with strong project management discipline.
Comfortable managing ambiguity and complexity.
Creative thinker with a proactive mindset.
Strong collaborator and relationship builder across teams.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working across multiple markets or cultures.
Familiarity with international brands or the tobacco industry.
Background in pricing or commercial research.
Solid understanding of Marketing & Sales functions and how insights inform commercial strategy.
