Who we are:
The British Embassy Office Lviv (BEOL) is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Political, Economics, and Communications Assistant to support the Head of BEOL to deliver the UK government’s political, economic, and communications priorities in Lviv as well as the whole of the west of Ukraine.
The Embassy adopts a model of integrated delivery, whereby staff from different teams work closely together to deliver HMG objectives in-country.
As well as receiving day-to-day guidance and direction from the Head of BEOL, you will also work closely with other colleagues in BEOL as well as colleagues based in British Embassy Kyiv.
Roles and responsibilities:
The post holder’s main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
1. Supporting the Head of BEOL in her representational activity in Lviv and across the west of Ukraine. (20%)
3. Supporting the Head of BEOL to deliver public communications about the Office’s activity, including the production, translation, and publication of social and traditional media updates, and preparing relevant media summaries on activities in Lviv and the wider west of Ukraine for the wider Office and Embassy team as needed, working with Communications colleagues in Kyiv. (10%)
4. With oversight from Head of BEOL and working with colleagues in Kyiv, prepare and deliver successful visit programmes for visitors to Lviv/west of Ukraine, and help organise and run online and offline Office events. (30%)
5. Support Head of BEOL with political and economic reporting on key events and trends in Lviv and west of Ukraine and provide occasional monitoring of Embassy-funded activities where required. (10%)

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Kyiv is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Ukrainian employment law. This is an official employment, and the salary is subject to official tax; currently 23%. The salary is a set rate and there are no additional allowances on top.
