Job Description:
• Data Analysis and Modeling: Conduct data collection, exploratory analysis, and develop statistical models and machine learning algorithms to generate insights supporting evidence-based decision-making for urban development.
• Geospatial Analysis: Perform spatial data analysis and work with geographic information systems (GIS) to address location-specific urban planning and development needs.
Competencies:
• Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
• Data Science: At least 2-3 years of professional experience in data science, data analysis, or related fields, preferably in development, humanitarian, or urban contexts.
• Programming and Tools: Strong proficiency in data science programming languages (., Python, R) and experience with data manipulation, visualization, and statistical analysis tools.
• Geospatial Analysis: Experience working with geospatial data, GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS), and spatial analysis libraries.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently and adapt to evolving project needs.
• Context: Experience working on projects in developing countries, understanding of low-resource environments, and sensitivity to cultural contexts.
