Agronomy Supervisor
What this role is about?
This position reports directly to the Agronomy Manager. He/she is responsible for the dissemination, implementation, and monitoring of leaf tobacco production activities in his/her assigned production area. Actively provides support in the field during tobacco production projects, grower contracting, quality grading, tobacco purchasing, and processing periods.
Responsibilities
Supports implementation and monitoring of Minimum Agricultural Standards to produce Turkish tobacco in the fieldSupports the planning and coordinates the dissemination of agreed practices and projects at the field levelEnsure effective implementation and follow-up of Agricultural Labor Practices and social responsibility programsOrganize and deliver training sessions to farmers; assist in developing farmer communication materialsMonitor the production and procurement of the cropConduct regular field visits to tobacco-producing areas and provide direct support to farmersMonitor the qualitative and quantitative development of the cropParticipate actively in cross-functional or field-level projects as assigned by the Agronomy Manager
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Tobacco Technology engineering, or Agricultural Engineering, or a relevant degreeMinimum 1 - 3 years’ experience in tobacco or the Agriculture industrySolid understanding of tobacco or field crop production systemsIntermediate level of English knowledgeMS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)For male candidates, military service must be completedStrong communication, organizational, and administrative skillsNo travel restrictions. A driving license is a must
