We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Tax Associate to join our Team in the Kyiv office. As a Tax Associate, you will manage key workstreams and ensure the highest standards of legal quality and client service.In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients across a broad spectrum of tax matters, including corporate taxation, VAT, international tax structuring, transfer pricing, and tax aspects of complex transactions. You will take responsibility for analysing tax implications, preparing and reviewing specialised tax documentation, and representing clients in interactions with tax authorities. Your ability to deliver clear, practical, and solution-oriented advice will be essential in helping clients navigate evolving tax legislation, minimise risk exposure, and support their strategic and operational objectives.As a Tax Associate, you will also collaborate closely with Partners and contribute to business development, client relationship management, and internal knowledge sharing.Responsibilities include:1. Tax Advisory and StructuringProvide legal advice on Ukrainian corporate tax, VAT, PIT, and other tax implications of transactions.Evaluate tax risks and propose efficient tax structures for M&A, restructuring, investment, and financing projects.Conduct analysis of international double taxation treaties and BEPS rules.Assist with tax planning strategies in compliance with current legislation.2. Tax Compliance and Regulatory SupportSupport clients in tax reporting, documentation preparation, and interactions with tax authorities.Review and prepare tax-related documentation such as contracts, policies, and internal procedures.3. Tax Disputes and LitigationRepresent clients during tax audits, inspections, and administrative investigations.Prepare legal arguments, objections, appeals, and procedural documents.Assist in litigation involving tax issues, working with dispute resolution teams when necessary.4. Transactional SupportProvide tax analysis and input for corporate transactions, including due diligence reviews.Assess tax consequences of corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and exits.Draft and review tax-related clauses in corporate and commercial agreements.5. Client Relationship ManagementAct as a trusted advisor for clients on day-to-day tax matters.Participate in negotiations, conference calls, and client meetings.Develop long-term client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.6. Coordination and CollaborationWork closely with Partners and cross-functional teams such as Corporate/M&A, Banking & Finance, Dispute Resolution, and Employment.Support multidisciplinary projects involving tax, regulatory, accounting, and compliance considerations.Key skills and experience required:Ukrainian-qualified lawyer with a Law degree (LLB or LL.M); tax-oriented specialisation preferred.2-5 years of experience in tax advisory within a law firm, consulting firm, or corporate tax department.Strong understanding of Ukrainian tax law, international tax principles, and regulatory frameworks.Experience in tax analysis, interpretation of legislation, and drafting of technical documentation. Experience with tax litigation or audits is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify tax risks, present clear conclusions, and provide practical solutions.Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.Proactive, collaborative, and eager to develop a specialisation in M&A and transactional advisory.Only candidates who meet all the requirements set out above will be considered for the position.What we offerAt Kinstellar, we prioritize your goals.
