General Information/Job Summary
The superintendent will be responsible to run the day-to-day operations on the construction site and control the short-term schedule for all civil disciplines. The role also includes important quality control and subcontractor coordination responsibilities.
Responsibilities/Competencies
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and requirements, develop and maintain strong safety culture on the jobsite.Ensure compliance with all Company policies, operating procedures, and standardsEnsure quality work products are performed within requirements of project QC standards and documentationEnsure that project is completed according to plan, within budget and according to promised deadlinesManage and coordinate subcontractor tool and equipment utilization on project, including equipment storage and maintenanceEnsure supervision oversees performance of all crews and that tools and materials are provided in a timely mannerCoordinate method of civil construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, and temporary power sourcesEnsure work schedules are maintained, and projects records are completed properly and submitted in a timely mannerIdentify work outside the scope of the project and ensure proper authorization and documentation for all progress, extras, escalation and back charges is maintainedContinuously monitor productivity and percentage complete identifying problems and potential delays and provide solutions to overcomeMonitor compliance of the Company’s safety programDeliver timely and accurate reports, financials, schedules and budgets on a regular basisRepresent the Company, interfacing and building relationships with owners, customers, general contractors and subcontractorsMaintain a presence in the field and serve as an example of technical support, ethical and professional behavior for field supervision and employees Ensure that field supervision is results oriented and promote the Company’s culture, in particular, regarding safety, quality and customer serviceRequirements
10 years supervisory experience in Heavy Industrial civil constructionThorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, industry standards, equipment, construction methods, contracts and construction documentsAdvanced understanding of construction and labor scheduling, cost control and the ability to control and supervise large projects is essentialAbility to work under pressure, coordinate numerous activities and crews who need to cooperate to achieve project goalsExcellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills requiredExcellent safety and performance recordComputer literateTravel required
