Position: Performance Engineer (Solar & Wind Data Analysis)

We have a great career opportunity for a Performance Engineer in a leading Ukrainian renewable energy company with a head office in Kyiv.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Performance Engineer who will focus on data analysis, performance monitoring, and analytical support of solar and wind power plant operations, working at the intersection of engineering, data, and day-to-day processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collect, consolidate, and validate operational data from multiple sources, including SCADA systems, metering systems, and other monitoring platforms, across a portfolio of solar and wind power plants
- Maintain and develop structured data models and reporting datasets to support operational and performance analysis (Excel, PowerQuery, Power BI)
- Perform regular (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) performance analysis of assets and the overall portfolio, preparing analytical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Monitor key SCADA performance indicators, identify deviations and anomalies, and support root-cause analysis in cooperation with O&M teams
- Support imbalance and forecasting-related processes through data preparation, validation, comparative analysis, and structured feedback to forecasting providers
- Develop and maintain analytical tools and automation solutions (primarily Python) to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and increase data reliability
- Participate in SCADA optimization and troubleshooting activities together with internal teams and external vendors
- Respond to internal and external data and performance related requests, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
Qualifications and professional experience:
- Strong analytical background with hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, and automation
- Advanced practical skills in Excel, Power BI, PowerQuery, and databases; working knowledge of Python, Java or other programming languages
- Experience working with SCADA systems or other industrial / operational monitoring systems
- Good understanding of performance KPIs in asset-intensive or operational environments; experience in renewable energy is a plus, but not a strict requirement
- Basic understanding of solar and wind power plant operation principles, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn technical domains
- Experience interacting with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, IT, external vendors)
- English proficiency at least at Upper-intermediate level (B2+)
