We are currently looking for an experienced 3D Artist to work on a freelance basis to deliver great-looking realistic 3D characters in Metahuman for Unreal Engine 5.
Responsibilities:
Create highly realistic 3D human characters in Unreal Engine 5 using MetaHuman framework. Accurately reproduce the likeness of real individuals based on photo or 3D scan references. Ensure visual consistency with the project’s art direction and technical requirements. Collaborate closely with concept artists, technical artists, and animators to achieve the desired realism and performance. Optimize characters for real-time rendering and animation within Unreal Engine. Maintain high-quality standards and efficient workflow throughout the production process.Required Skills:
Proven experience in realistic human modeling, texturing, and shading. Deep understanding of human anatomy, facial structure, and proportion. Proficiency in tools such as ZBrush, Maya/Blender/3ds Max, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop, and Marmoset Toolbag. Experience creating and grooming realistic hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes (cards or MetaHuman-compatible grooms). Strong knowledge of PBR workflows, skin shading, and material setup for realistic rendering. Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5, particularly MetaHuman creation and customization tools. Good understanding of topology, UV layout, and optimization for animation and performance. Ability to interpret reference materials precisely and maintain visual fidelity. Strong portfolio demonstrating realistic character work. Having real people recreated in Metahuman in a portfolio.As a Plus:
Experience integrating custom assets into the MetaHuman system or modifying MetaHuman meshes. Knowledge of photogrammetry or 3D scanning workflows. Understanding of facial rigging and blendshape creation. Previous experience in AAA game production or cinematic projects. Ability to communicate effectively in English.We offer*:
